How to Use Your JM Press PDF Templates on Tablets

Our templates are locked for protection. That means:

  • You can write on them, type, highlight, or annotate.

  • You can rearrange or duplicate pages in most apps.

  • You cannot change the underlying design, text, or elements.

  • You cannot unlock or edit the base file.

Below are step-by-step instructions for the most popular apps.

1. Adobe Acrobat / Reader (iPad & Android)

Pricing:

  • Free: view, highlight, comment, annotate with stylus.

  • Paid (Acrobat Premium/Pro): needed only if you want advanced editing — not required for JM Press templates since they are locked.

How to set single-page view (no sliding):

  1. Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader.

  2. Tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the toolbar.

  3. Tap the View Mode icon (page icon, or menu).

  4. Select Single Page.

    • This makes each page snap in place when swiping.

  5. Optional: In app Settings → Page Display, set “Single Page” as the default view.

With your JM Press template: you can write on it, highlight, and save progress — no subscription needed for that.

2. Notability (iPad only)

Pricing:

  • Free download with limited features.

  • Subscription or one-time purchase unlocks unlimited imports and tools.

  • For JM Press templates, you’ll need at least the basic paid version to write on and save your work long-term.

How to set single-page view:

  1. Import the PDF into Notability.

  2. Tap the … menu (top right).

  3. Choose View Options → Paginated (Single Page).

  4. Make sure Page Transition is set to “Paginated.”

With your JM Press template: you can handwrite, type notes, and duplicate pages — but not edit the locked design.

3. GoodNotes (iPad only)

Pricing:

  • Free version allows only a few notebooks.

  • Subscription or one-time purchase (GoodNotes 6) is required for unlimited templates.

  • To use JM Press templates regularly, you’ll need the full (paid) version.

How to set single-page view:

  1. Open the PDF in GoodNotes.

  2. Tap More (…) → View Options.

  3. Set Scrolling Direction → Vertical.

  4. Under Page View, choose Single Page View.

  5. (Optional) In Settings → Document Editing, set this as default.

With your JM Press template: you can duplicate/rearrange pages, write on them, and save — but cannot change the locked content.

4. Xodo (iPad & Android)

Pricing:

  • Free for core features: annotate, write, highlight, save.

  • No subscription required for using JM Press templates.

How to set single-page view:

  1. Open your PDF in Xodo.

  2. Tap the center of the screen → toolbar appears.

  3. Tap the View Mode icon (page icon or menu).

  4. Choose Single Page (not Continuous).

With your JM Press template: you can write, highlight, and save freely. Content stays locked.
