Every product is a little different, so always check the individual product page and the files included with your purchase for specific instructions, format, and compatibility requirements.
Start With Your Product
Before you begin, take a moment to check what you've purchased.
Your JM Press product may be:
- Interactive PDF — designed for digital writing and navigation
- Fillable PDF — designed for typing directly into designated fields

Interactive PDFs
Interactive PDFs are designed to give you the experience of writing in a digital planner or journal while still allowing you to move easily through the document.
How to use
1. Download your file
Your digital product is delivered electronically after purchase. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it again.
2. Open it in a compatible app
Depending on your device and the features of the product, you may be able to use apps such as:
- Goodnotes
- Notability
- Noteshelf
- Xodo
- Other compatible PDF annotation apps
3. Write directly on the pages
Use your stylus, Apple Pencil, or compatible digital pen to write on the pages.
Interactive PDFs are generally designed for handwriting rather than typing into text fields, unless the individual product specifically states otherwise.
4. Use the navigation
Where included, interactive elements may allow you to move between sections, pages, weeks, days, or other areas of the product.
Look for buttons such as:
Home • Index • Notes • Next • Previous • Sections • Days
Not every interactive PDF will have the same navigation features, so use the instructions provided with your specific product.
Fillable PDFs
Fillable PDFs are designed for typing directly into designated fields.
How to use
- Download your file.
- Open it in a compatible PDF application.
- Click or tap inside the available fields.
- Type your information.
- Save your completed file.
Depending on the application you use, some interactive features may work differently.
For the best experience, use a compatible PDF reader or editor that supports PDF forms.
Printable PDFs
For those who love putting pen to paper, printable products are designed to be downloaded and printed for physical use.
How to use
1. Download your file.
Save the original file somewhere safe so you can access it again whenever you need it.
2. Choose your printing settings.
Unless the product instructions say otherwise, print at 100% / Actual Size rather than automatically scaling the document.
3. Choose your paper.
The recommended paper size and format will depend on the individual product.
Common sizes include:
- A4

- Letter
- Other sizes specified on the product page
4. Print and use.
Write, plan, track, highlight, organize, and make it yours.
Google Sheets Products
Our Google Sheets products are designed for customers who want practical digital systems for planning, tracking, calculating, and organizing information.
Depending on the product, your Google Sheet may include:

Getting started
1. Open the Google Sheets file or access link provided with your purchase.
2. Make your own copy if instructed.
This gives you your own working version without changing the original template.
3. Read the setup instructions first.
Some JM Press systems are designed to work together, so completing the initial setup can be important before using the rest of the system.
4. Enter your information.
Use the designated input areas, dropdowns, checkboxes, and fields provided.
5. Let the system do the work.

Some JM Press products — such as the JM Press Life Planner — are more comprehensive and include additional setup instructions or tutorials.
Start with the tutorial or user guide before exploring the full system.
It will help you understand how the different sections connect and how to get the most from the product.
Digital Journals & Pocket Diaries
Some JM Press journals and pocket diaries are intentionally simple.
You don't have to fill every page.
You don't have to write every day.
And you don't have to use them in a particular order unless the product specifically instructs you to.
Use them in the way that works for you.
For guided journals and pocket diaries:
Read the prompt.
Give yourself a moment to think about it.
Write what comes naturally.
A sentence is enough. A page is enough. A few words are enough.
Use the space honestly.
These tools are there to support your reflection, not create another task on your list.
For 90-day products, the 90 days are a framework — not a test of consistency.
Tutorials & User Guides
Some JM Press products include additional instructions, guides, or tutorials.
These are provided to make more advanced products easier to understand and use.
If your purchase includes a tutorial, we recommend watching or reading it before getting started, particularly for automated Google Sheets products.
If your product does not include a tutorial, the product itself should contain the information necessary to understand its intended use, where applicable.
